Materials and goods delivered at the right time at minimal labor expenditure is a logistical challenge and improvable in many projects. Rational handling and transport systems as well as adequate storage spaces are oftentimes a deficiency of the interface between furniture and smallware. As a consequence, personnel are deployed in a way that even multiple handling steps get routine. That is why smallware become vagrant bulks rather than being efficiently unwrapped and stored.

FF&E require a quantification and localization within the construction planning stage. Storage areas, means of transportation, and a defined handling system should be in place in accordance with the features of the respective items.

Norms, such as the so called “Gastro-Norm”, neither prevents a producer from manufacturing to different dimensions nor any supplier from preferring specific measures and producers. As a result, there are no consistent specifications, leading to a “nutshell effect” which makes it difficult to find compatible items.

For inventory, there is often only a short timeframe in which employees must orientate themselves. A stressful situation characterized by unwrapping and checking individual items, such as silverware or crockery, and the search for the appropriate storage room involves manpower, thereby hindering the staff from more important duties.

BBG-Consulting offers the merchandising layout, a proven inventory-logistics-plan that ranges from the specification of each item to tendering, sampling, coordination of deliveries, approval, and designated placement.
